IFDA/EF WALK FOR DESIGN EDUCATION

Join IFDA members, their friends, families and colleagues across the country as they "Walk for Design Education." The IFDA Educational Foundation offers 15 scholarships and grants, more than any other industry association. However, the needs are greater than ever and IFDA-EF wants to do more. By walking and/or contributing to the Walk for Design Education, you are helping:

•  Students achieve their educational goals
•  Fund programs that enhance the knowledge and skills of professionals in the industry
•  Preserve historic sites
•  Support universal design projects and education


Goal of the WALK


The goal of the walk is to increase endowment levels and award amounts for student scholarships and grant funding for interior design programs, universal design, historic preservation and professional development.

Florida Chapter

Walk Date: May 15, 2010 - Saturday
Location: A guided architectural tour along Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach
Check-in Time: 9:00 am park at Sundy House + shuttle to the start
Walk Start Time: 9:30 am
Walk Route: Starting at the park in Atlantic Plaza located on Atlantic Avenue directly west of the Intracoastal Bridge in Delray Beach, an architectural tour led by Sharon Koskoff, President of the Art Deco Society of the Palm Beaches. The tour is through the Atlantic Avenue area,which is one of the historical areas of Delray Beach, Florida and offers many examples of the Art Deco era. We will be stopping along the route for refreshments (which are included).The tour ends at the historic Sundy House on Swinton Avenue at 12:00 pm, where we will view the gardens. Lunch will be on your own at the Sundy House.
Reservations for lunch can be made at the time you reserve your place for the tour. The cost of the tour is $25.00. We will have a shuttle available at the Sundy House on Swinton Ave. south of Atlantic Ave. promptly at 9:00 am, where you may park your car. Wear comfortable shoes!
